RISM Online, a service by RISM Digital, provides access to the musical sources of the Répertoire International des Sources Musicales through extensive search and browse functions. Multiple entry points with extensive interfaces for researching sources, persons, and institutions provide users with the ability to quickly narrow down relevant results using several different approaches, including keyword searches, filters, and relationship information. An innovative incipit query interface provides fast and accurate notation searches, with coloured notes highlighting the parts of the incipit which match a query. Users can also narrow down on matching incipits by specifying a clef, key signature, or time signature as a filter, or by combining a notation search with a keyword search for composer or piece names.
