3rd NFDI Conference 2021

On July 8, 2021, the third NFDI conference took place, in which the funded consortia and consortia proposed for funding met the planned consortia for the third funding round. The initiatives of the third round introduced themselves and had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the funded consortia.

In addition, the DFG informed the planned consortia about important organizational points of the application process, as well as the status of the establishment of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). In addition, the NFDI Directorate, namely Director Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter, presented the current activities of the NFDI Association.

Conference program

With a focus on the planned consortia, after an initial welcome and information by Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schill (NFDI Expert Panel) and Prof. Dr. York Sure-Vetter (NFDI Directorate), there were several sessions with presentations of the technical initiatives NFDI4Immuno, NFDI4BioImage, NFDI4Patho, NFDIxCS, NFDI4MobilTech, NFDI4Energy, the humanities initiatives NFDI4Memory, NFDI4Objects, TheoReS, as well as NFDI-Neuro, NFDI4Phys, FAIRagro, InnoMatSafety. After a networking session between existing and planned consortia, in which NFDI4Culture also participated, another session with presentations of the planned consortia for basic services took place. Here 2linkNFDI, Metadata-Tools4NFDI and METHODS presented themselves.
