Bibliotheca Hertziana – Fotothek

The Photographic Collection of the Bibliotheca Hertziana owns more than 1,300,000 photographic positives, negatives, transparencies, digital images and digital copies, most of which document Italian art from late antiquity to the present. In addition to the topography, architecture and art of Italy and in particular of the city of Rome, the artist and drawing sectors form further focal points of the collection.It is possible to search for depicted works or for depicted photographs.The website is available in German, English and Italian.

Bildindex der Kunst und Architektur

Bildindex is a collaborative database in which around 80 cultural and scientific institutions – museums, heritage conservation offices, libraries, university and research institutes – jointly publish their image and data holdings on art and architecture. Accessing the contents of the portal and participating as a data-supplying institution is free of charge.

CbDD – Corpus of Baroque Ceiling Painting in Germany

The Corpus of Baroque Ceiling Painting in Germany researches and publishes ceiling and wall painting from the period between about 1550 and 1800 in the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. CORPUS VITREARUM – Digital image archive

Data portal Detmolder Hoftheater 1825–1875

The musical and archival sources kept in the Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold on the history of the Detmold Court Theater are preserved in unusual breadth and abundance. The aim of the project Detmolder Hoftheater 1825–1875 was to describe the surviving musical sources (scores, voices and parts, libretti, role booklets) in detail on the one hand (incl. enclosed inserts as well as handwritten entries on persons and performances) and on the other hand to record the archival sources in full text or as registers.

Deutsche Inschriften Online

The online portal Deutsche Inschriften Online (DIO) is one of the largest epigraphic platforms, offering numerous medieval and early modern inscription articles with illustrations. It is continuously updated with new finds and corrections, and some volumes include interactive media such as zoomable floor plans or virtual tours. All volumes are mapped geographically, and in addition to digitised print editions, there are also born-digital publications. Articles, introductions, and bibliographies have persistent identifiers and are citable. A full-text search and thematic bridges allow cross-regional research.The project’s goal is to digitise the entire Deutsche Inschriften series and make it accessible online, in cooperation with the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz and the Digital Media & Computational Methods research unit at the University of Münster.

epidat ─ Research Platform for Jewish Epigraphy

The database on Jewish gravestone epigraphy epidat serves the inventory, documentation, editing, and presentation of epigraphic sollections. Personal data, diplomatic transcriptions and translations of the inscriptions, as well as descriptions and image files of the gravestones are available online. Furthermore, the archive maintains additional data sets on gravestones built after the year 1955 that are not available online.Continuosly further developed, the beta version adds new research functionalities to the web-based version, as well as a bilingual menu and is optimized for use on mobile devices.

Ferdinand Gregorovius. Poesie und Wissenschaft. Gesammelte deutsche und italienische Briefe

The digital edition Ferdinand Gregorovius. Poetry and Science. Collected German and Italian Letters by the Deutsches Historisches Institut in Rome (DHI Rom) offers a representative selection of the correspondence of the German historian and journalist Ferdinand Gregorovius (1821-1981). The collected German and Italian letters are offered as a critical digital-born edition in their original language with comprehensive commentary.Ferdinand Gregorovius lived in Rome for more than 20 years, where he wrote his main work, the \"Geschichte der Stadt Rom im Mittelalter\", which in 1876 made him an honorary citizen of the city. In addition to his historiographical and literary oeuvre he has left several thousand letters in which he, a contemporary witness, sheds light on Italian and German history of science as well as on politics and culture of the 19th century. Whilst travelling Gregorovius corresponded in particular with learned writers and artists.Around 1090 letters have been edited in TEI-P5, mainly based on the DTA-Basisformat. There are lists of persons, works, places, literature, works, corporate names in cmif.xml format providing a systematic access to the data. The project was funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) from 2017 to 2023. In addition, the project was supported by the Gerda Henkel Foundation between 2018 and 2023.

Kompakkt

Kompakkt provides the possibility to make images, videos, audio files and especially 3D models available, add annotations and to access them collaboratively in groups and collections. These media files can further be implemented in external websites. The service is free of charge.

musiconn.performance

musiconn.performance contains more than 153,000 records of musical performances as well as the sources documenting them from contributing partners from concert halls, memory institutions, and research. As a result of constant data enrichment, the documented sound events now range from the 17th century to the present and increasingly include not only the German-speaking but also the international area. Thanks to continuous data standardisation, curation and search optimisation, the persons, entities, places and works associated with these musical events can be found sustainably and persistently.

RISM Online

RISM Online, a service by RISM Digital, provides access to the musical sources of the Répertoire International des Sources Musicales through extensive search and browse functions. Multiple entry points with extensive interfaces for researching sources, persons, and institutions provide users with the ability to quickly narrow down relevant results using several different approaches, including keyword searches, filters, and relationship information. An innovative incipit query interface provides fast and accurate notation searches, with coloured notes highlighting the parts of the incipit which match a query. Users can also narrow down on matching incipits by specifying a clef, key signature, or time signature as a filter, or by combining a notation search with a keyword search for composer or piece names.

Semantic Kompakkt

Semantic Kompakkt is a free and open source toolchain for the viewing and annotation of 3D models, and other visual media within a linked open data (LOD) environment. Consisting of Wikibase (for metadata storage as LOD) and Kompakkt (for publishing and annotating 2D, 3D and AV media), Semantic Kompakkt offers a range of functionalities via user-friendly graphical interfaces and open APIs.
