On behalf of the NFDI4Culture consortium, we cordially invite you to the second public community forum "(Further) Development of Research Tools & Data Services in NFDI4Culture". The meeting will take place in virtual format on Thursday, 15 September 2022 from 9am to 12pm.

The aim of the forum is to identify the needs of the community with regard to research tools and data services in discussion with researchers and members of the specialist disciplines. Funds are again available for 2023 for the (further) development of required research tools and data services within NFDI4Culture. The exchange with our community is an essential part of this format. The insights gained from the forum will directly feed into the analysis to determine the funding allocation for the proposed NFDI4Culture tools and services.

With the upcoming event, we aim to build on the success of last year's forum, where tools, services and frameworks from different subjects in the NFDI4Culture community were proposed and discussed. Based on the forum results and an in-depth analysis of the submissions, six tools and services were proposed to the Culture Steering Board for funding, which were subsequently accepted.

This year we would like to give a second opportunity to present further and new developments of tools and services. Also we want to identify additional needs for suitable tools that appear to be suitable for funding in the future. In doing so, we do not primarily want to consider new developments, but rather the further development and consolidation of already existing tools and services. Measures that have already been funded also have the opportunity to apply again and present planned developments.

The following programme is planned for the event:

9.00–9.30am: Welcome, introduction of the programme and short presentation of the projects
9.30–10.10am: 1st breakout session
10.10–10.20am: Break
10.20–11.00am: 2nd breakout session
11.00–11.30am: Feedback session
11.30–12.00am: Evaluation, summary statements by the applicants and farewells

If you are interested in participating, please register until September 14, 2022. We will provide you with a date reminder and a link to the virtual meeting space in advance of the event.

Expected schedule:

July 29, 2022: Dispatch of call for proposals, start of submissions
August 29, 2022: Deadline for submissions
September 1, 2022: Review of submissions
September 8, 2022: Dispatch of programme
September 15, 2022: Community Forum
Last quarter of 2022: Analysis and selection of measures as well as funding decision of the Culture Steering Board, preparation for allocation of funds.

For those who would like to submit proposals for tools and services for (further) development, there will be an opportunity to submit proposals for projects and measures from 29th July 2022 to 29th August 2022.

The submission is closed now. Thank you for your participation.
