Announcement first Culture Community Plenary

"Children group in carnival costume in Roßwein with added script" Creator: Günther Hanisch

The Culture Community Plenary will take place from 17-19th November 2021. The consortium has decided to host the community meeting digitally again. This is a bitter loss for the Mainz wine industry, where we might have met in our dreams. But unlike the Oktoberfest, this major event is not being cancelled.

The good news is: we are extending the deadline for the Call for Papers. So that concepts that were physically planned can be rewritten and those who didn't have enough courage or time to plan a real meeting can still get a motivational boost to submit a paper.

The application deadline for the formats described below is 22th September 2021.

We will gladly accept submissions for lightning talks, presentations and workshops via our templates. Please submit to coordination-office(at)nfdi4culture(dot)de.

Presentations

Slots of 30 minutes are available for presentations (20 minutes presentation and 10 minutes discussion). You can submit papers on the following topics:

  • - Ongoing research data projects in the Culture disciplines at all stages
  • - New developments, tools, and research findings
  • - Policy, legal, and technical frameworks for research data

Please submit an abstract of 1-2 pages.

Lightning Talks

Lightning Talks are an opportunity to provide the community with low-threshold information about your current topics in short keynote presentations (10 minutes). Submissions from the following areas are accepted for this purpose:

  • - Research data projects in the culture subjects at all stages
  • - Tools and services
  • - Concepts and ideas

Please submit an abstract of no more than 1 page.

Workshops

Workshops provide an opportunity to share new knowledge and skills in a collaborative way. They have a time frame of 3 hours, with at least one coffee break included. Workshops with the following focus areas can be submitted:

  • - New tools and services
  • - Hands-on tutorials
  • - Collaborative formats such as datathons, hackathons, or writeathons

Please submit an abstract of 2-5 pages outlining, among other things: Format, target audience, maximum number of participants.
