description

If you want to learn more about the LIDO (Lightweight Information Describing Objects) metadata schema, now is your chance again!
The NFDI4Culture Consortium's Standards, Data Quality, and Curation Task Area (Task Area 2) cordially invites you to attend a free LIDO training session (online) on September 14, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm (CEST).

The metadata schema LIDO (Lightweight Information Describing Objects) was developed to make object data available for publication. Descriptions of collection objects can contain a variety of information related to the physical object, the indexing, and the digital image. LIDO provides a structure for this and serves many collections as a basis for providing information on cultural objects, e. g. in the German Digital Library or in Europeana.
The three-hour LIDO training session will introduce the metadata schema LIDO (Lightweight Information Describing Objects) and illustrate it with examples. The event is free of charge and open to all interested parties. Previous knowledge is not required. The event will be held online.

We look forward to a lively participation!

The event will be held in advance of the 2023 CIDOC Conference. As part of the CIDOC Conference, a meeting of the CIDOC LIDO Working Group will be held on September 24 to present the LIDO Terminology. All interested parties are also cordially invited to attend here.

Speaker
The event will be held by Barbara Fichtl from the Lower Saxony State and University Library in Göttingen.
