NFDI4Culture Metadata API
Metadata of all resources as Linked Open Data
The NFDI4Culture portal offers all content as Linked Open Data over this RESTful API. The API implements the Hydra-Specification of the W3C Hydra Community Group. The semantic description of this API can be retrieved by clients via the Hydra documentation file (JSON). Each metadata record offered via this API can also be retrieved in one of following machine-readable LOD serializations. The API is the basis for the Culture Research Information Graph, which together with the Culture Research Data Graph forms the Culture Knowledge Graph (for more details see this presentation).

What images and stories feed the datasets that contemporary AI models are trained on? Which imaginaries are reproduced through AI-driven media technologies and which remain latent? How do synthetic media transform relations of power and visibility, and what methods—perhaps equally synthetic—can we develop to analyze these transformations? The conference / Autumn School “Synthetic Imaginaries: The Cultural Politics of Generative AI” will focus on these and other questions.
The event will take place from September 8 to September 12, 2025 at the University of Siegen and is jointly organized by the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centres “Media of Cooperation” and “Transformations of the Popular” as well as the Center of Digital Narratives at the University of Bergen, the ECREA Digital Culture and Communication Section and NFDI4Culture.
The event begins with a one-day conference and continues with hands-on workshops and collaborative projects. Early-career researchers are invited to present their ideas during the conference and participate in one of several projects.
NFDI4Culture is offering several travel grants for early-career researchers to participate in the conference / Autumn School in order to promote new research perspectives on Generative AI and to support interdisciplinary networking in this field of research. Further information on the modalities of the call can be found in the Call for Papers for the event: https://www.mediacoop.uni-siegen.de/en/events/conference-autumn-school-synthetic-imaginaries/
We look forward to receiving applications via the application form! The deadline is June 20, 2025.
