NFDI4Culture Metadata API
Metadata of all resources as Linked Open Data
The NFDI4Culture portal offers all content as Linked Open Data over this RESTful API. The API implements the Hydra-Specification of the W3C Hydra Community Group. The semantic description of this API can be retrieved by clients via the Hydra documentation file (JSON). Each metadata record offered via this API can also be retrieved in one of following machine-readable LOD serializations. The API is the basis for the Culture Research Information Graph, which together with the Culture Research Data Graph forms the Culture Knowledge Graph (for more details see this presentation).

A new, regular forum for exchange is being introduced to promote close collaboration between NFDI4Culture and the wider system of specialist information services. The aim is to systematically exploit synergies, avoid duplication and strengthen the flow of information between the data-producing stakeholders of the FIDs and NFDI4Culture.
The specialist information services closely linked to NFDI4Culture in terms of subject matter form an important nucleus for networking: These include, in particular, the FID for the Performing Arts, the FID for Musicology (musiconn), FID for Media and the FID for Art, Photography and Design (arthistoricum.net). Building on these subject-specific FIDs, the exchange is to be expanded to encompass the entire FID network and strengthened in the long term.
The first regular meeting is now planned as part of this format:
Date: Wednesday, 17 June 2026
Time: 10.30 am – 12.30 pm
Further information on the topics and how to participate will be published shortly in the ‘Events’ section.
Save the date – we look forward to the launch of a sustainable and regular series of exchanges!
