The teaching and learning materials for the basic course on research data management for the humanities and cultural sciences were compiled, designed and made publicly available by the Cultural Research Data Academy team. The OER includes learning units, quizzes and interactive modules. The introduction to the topic of research data management is supplemented by introductions to the research data terminology, data formats, RDM, research data lifecycle, FAIR principles, and CARE guidelines, as well as explanations of standard data and metadata. It also contains further information on storing, publishing, archiving, and documenting research data. To supplement the content, interactive teaching methods are included with the course that can be used in face-to-face sessions.

The content of the course materials is thematically oriented with a focus on generic research data management topics, including individual subject-specific sections on art history, music, media, film, theater, and dance studies. The interactive learning units are aimed at (early-career) researchers, students, and teachers alike.
The course is free of charge, freely accessible, and reusable.
Besides an internet connection and a working browser there are no further technical requirements to use this offer.
The time duration and working load depends on the prior level of knowledge of the participants.
