Sachsen.digital is the state digitisation programme for science and culture of the Free State of Saxony. It uses supplementary budget funds to support the digitisation of collections from academic and public libraries as well as valuable written and cultural assets from other cultural and scientific institutions. The State Digitization Program for Science and Culture is coordinated by the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB) Dresden and encompassses three areas: licensing of digital media (consortium of Saxon university libraries), digitisation of valuable written materials and cultural artefacts in Saxony, and digital preservation. The aim of the state digitisation programme is to provide research, teaching and the general public with digital media and information on objects from the state's cultural and scientific heritage. As a data portal, Sachsen.digital offers comprehensive online access to cultural assets that have already been digitised via the website's search mask. An informative overview of current digitisation projects can be found at Aktuelles.
