Audio(visual) Cultural Heritage and Research Data. Requirements for Workflows, Metadata and Repositories (online event)
description

In research projects in the humanities and social sciences, audio(visual) material is increasingly playing a role - for example, music, interviews or field recordings serve as sources or are created as part of the research process. But research results can be published in audiovisual form, too, for example in form of a video essay or a podcast. Last but not least, archives and collections deal with the digitization and provision of historical recordings in digital form. To enable the public and researchers to make use of such data, many actors are working on sustainable solutions for the presentation, storage and access to audio(visual) data.

NFDI4Culture, together with the FID musiconn (Specialized Information Service for Musicology), cordially invite you to the online event "Audio(visual) Cultural Heritage and Research Data. Requirements for workflows, metadata and repositories" on 16 and 17 November 2023 (both 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.) to give insights into this multifaceted topic. On two afternoons, several portals, projects and archives that store and make accessible audio(-visual) data will talk about how they deal with the digitizing, preserving and makking accessible audiovisual data for heritage documentation and research.

The event will be held in German.

Registration is open to 13 November: https://events.nfdi4culture.de/e/audiovisuelledaten
Participation is free of charge. The link to the online event will be sent by email to registered participants on 14 November 2023.
