NFDI4Culture Metadata API
Metadata of all resources as Linked Open Data
The NFDI4Culture portal offers all content as Linked Open Data over this RESTful API. The API implements the Hydra-Specification of the W3C Hydra Community Group. The semantic description of this API can be retrieved by clients via the Hydra documentation file (JSON). Each metadata record offered via this API can also be retrieved in one of following machine-readable LOD serializations. The API is the basis for the Culture Research Information Graph, which together with the Culture Research Data Graph forms the Culture Knowledge Graph (for more details see this presentation).

We organize barcamps to create a lively discussion platform for current developments with the community and to promote the creation of new initiatives.
Barcamps focus on the intensive exchange of ideas between participants. In contrast to a traditional conference with a fixed lecture program and invited speakers, a barcamp is an open format. It thrives on exchange, interaction, and participation. In parallel sessions, interested parties come together to discuss topics that are proposed directly by the participants. In principle, a barcamp is completely open-ended; it is primarily about exchanging ideas, brainstorming, and networking.
Our barcamps serve as an interface for the 4Culture research community, with a focus on broad participation. They are aimed at people without prior knowledge up to experts, researchers at universities up to GLAM institutions, research projects in the making up to completed projects with a wealth of practical experience, and all interested parties from the fields of musicology, art history, archaeology and architecture to theater, film and media studies and all others.
Our barcamps are thus an open and central platform for academic dialog and the joint shaping of the digital future in the context of cultural heritage.
Hundreds of participants have used these informal gatherings to share their questions and ideas and find like-minded people.
In addition to running them, NFDI4Culture provides advice and active support to ensure that barcamps are used effectively to promote participatory research data practices. The barcamp format is also regularly used intensively by the NFDI4Culture partners, e.g. at the Barcamp WikiRemembrance 2023.
