Governance & Administration
Governance and Administration
The CCO is set up as a centralized-decentralized structure with scientific coordinators at all co-applicant institutions. It ensures the liaison between the governance of the consortium (spokesperson, co-spokespersons) and the team members of the individual task areas at the operational level. The CCO's main task is to ensure continuous exchange and synchronisation between both goups and provide everybody with transparent and comprehensive reporting.
The CCO representatives also attend the regular meetings of the steering and community bodies (Culture Steering Board, Culture Spokesperson Committee, Culture Advisory Council and Culture Community Plenary) as well as the respective forums and all other public events in order to collate results and decisions while facilitating their planning, implementation and documentation in a coordinated manner.
Similar to the centralized-decentralized structure of the CCO, the TCO is in charge of the overall technical management and coordination of the consortium and particpates in the certification processes for software and services. The team monitors and supports all technical developments across the different task areas at the consortium level as well as the general infrastructural approaches at NFDI level.
The TCO further coordinates the working groups that engage in technical cross-cutting topics and provides the consortium with the technical infrastructure for digital communication, collaborative documentation, software development and service monitoring.
The Culture Community Plenary is an annual event for networking, collaboration and decision-making where the entire consortium, i.e. representatives of the participating institutions and academic societies as well as all organs of governance, discusses the current status quo with invited guests, our Culture Community. In close collaboration between the communities and the task areas, the progress of the work programme will be presented and evaluated in order to shape the consortium’s strategy for the following year.
We bring together and coordinate the various activities around of cross-cutting topics across the consortium. As laid down in the Berlin Declaration, cooperation with other consortia will be organized via working groups dedicated to subject-specific matters which are particularly relevant to NFDI4Culture, such as the standardization of imaging techniques, the treatment of complex digital object representations, or generic topics such as the establishment of an Authentication and Authorisation Infrastructure (AAI).
The Culture Kickstarter promotes innovation and development of the NFDI4Culture service portfolio. A consolidated evaluation process allows members and participants of the consortium to make proposals for the implementation of sub-projects that strengthen the consortium’s research data management and expand the range of services offered.
The NFDI4Culture Community is large and diverse. To continuously raise and expand the awarness for our services and to gain new users, we introduce the consortium and its offerings at national and international events, during subject-specific conferences of the participating disciplines as well as conferences on (inter-)national research data management.
